Megan Paterson is the founder and principal of Aurelia, a Calgary-based art advisory dedicated to making the art market more approachable, engaging, and rewarding for collectors. She holds a certification in Art Advising from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London and brings more than 14 years of experience working in and managing a commercial gallery where she developed extensive knowledge of the Canadian art market and built a deep network of artists, galleries, collectors, and industry professionals.
Since founding Aurelia in 2024, Megan has helped countless clients navigate the art world with confidence, whether that’s supporting them in the purchase of a significant artwork, managing their collection, navigating the sale of their artwork or offering them meaningful ways to engage with art and culture. Her approach combines industry expertise with a highly personal, relationship-driven perspective, removing the intimidation and uncertainty that can often surround buying and collecting art.
Megan is an active voice in Calgary’s art community, using education, public speaking, events, and social media to connect people with artists, exhibitions, galleries, and the broader art ecosystem. Her mission is simple: to educate and empower art collectors, making collecting feel less intimidating, more personal, and a lot more fun.
